Class # 6

WHAT KIND OF THEACHER WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE?

After a break, we returned to our classes. During the class we addressed topics that, in my opinion, are very important. When the teacher started the class and saw that many classmates were still missing, he talked about punctuality, pointing out that it is one of the most important things that a teacher must have, since punctuality is of fundamental importance for a teacher, since it significantly impacts various aspects of their professional work. Teachers are authority figures and role models for their students, so, by being punctual, they teach by example the importance of respecting the time of others and fulfilling commitments, essential values in personal and professional life. Arriving on time shows respect towards students and their coworkers, indicating that their time and the effort they make to be present is valued. Personally, I recognize that I have some problems in this regard and I am working on it since I usually miscalculate time.

The teacher also talked about motivation and explained that it was not the same as emotion but that it was more related to intention and that there are several types: external, internal (requires conviction) and intrinsic, something that he mentioned is very true. The teacher is that we cannot expect to have a perfect day to feel motivated since happiness is a dimension of being and it does not manifest itself every day, so our motivation must be more attached to the goals we want to achieve and what we are going to do every day to achieve that goal.

I think these types of talks are very important since they are a stop along the way for reflection and to think about the question that the teacher posed: what kind of teacher do I want to be? Being a teacher is not just about imparting knowledge because to a large extent, as the teacher says, we can only enter if the other is willing to allow it, however, a teacher must go beyond his role and must encourage his students to be each day. better from their knowledge but also from the part of being, because in our life as students we thank and remember with greater appreciation the teachers who, in addition to a specific knowledge, left us teachings and life lessons, above all we remember those who trusted us and motivated us to do better.

Finally, we did several activities, including a game that allowed me to work on our vocabulary and I learned something new for me, which was phone numbers and the way they dictated to me in English, although at first it was confusing. Later I managed to keep up and my Correct Answers were higher.
